TEACHING ARTIST

Milwaukee Repertory Theater — Milwaukee, Wisconsin
June 2015 – Present

  • Adult Acting, Summer Residency, Dreaming Through the Arts, Reading Residency: Of Mice and Men

  • Focus: Introduction to theater for ages 7–100 with a focus on creation of character through body and voice, integration of language and fine arts, and adapting and expanding literature into new pieces of theatre.


TEACHING ARTIST

Sunset Playhouse — Elm Grove, Wisconsin
June 2012 – July 2015

  • Courses: Creative Drama, Monologue Acting

  • Focus: Introduction to theater and acting for grades K5–10.

  • Duties: Prepared lesson plans for approval and provided daily feedback to Education Director to ensure course objectives were being reached. Scheduled a final performance for all classes.


SUMMER PERFORMANCE CAMP COUNSELOR

Sunset Playhouse — Elm Grove, Wisconsin
July 2013 – July 2015

  • Co-directed new musical adaptations of children's stories (Co-Director: Sara Laak).

  • Focus: A week long camp for grades 1–8 focused on developing life lessons such as teamwork, observation and clear communication in the form of a full production.

  • Duties: Directed and choreographed scenes for performance. Managed all scenery and properties during rehearsal and performance.

  • Focus: Scene/monologue study for majors and non-majors, Vocal production and Text Study for majors and recommended non-majors.

  • Duties: Submitted syllabi for department approval. Kept accurate record of student participation and grades.

  • Assistant to Jenny Toutant, Becky Witt and Neal Easterling.

  • Duties: Wrote production descriptions for schools, Collected and transferred survey information to Microsoft Excel format. Created contact sheet for the 2011–2012 Big Read.
